September 2018 EDA Inclusive!

Hello Lovelies! I want to give you a peak at a Jewelry line that I have been working on with my dear friend Christopher.  It represents my values, and how I have learned to navigate the world with authenticity.  Its an original jewelry line called Songlines.

Ancient people used what they called Songlines to navigate a labyrinth of invisible pathways across wild countryside. The words and melody and pace with which they were sung mapped the contours of the terrain and allowed travelers to navigate safely. Symbology became an extension of these Songlines, serving as guide posts to navigate the Unseen Path one must follow through life.

In my life, I have felt like a traveler who was lost many times. To find my bearings, I began to study nature, and I also turned an eye inward simultaneously. Certain symbols began to take on great meaning, as I used them to serve as a compass to navigate the outer and the inner path. Trees remind me that hard wood grows slowly, and to have patience. Water reminds me that being adaptable was true strength. Feathers found on the ground remind me to look up, and keep a bigger perspective.Horseshoes represent more than luck - they represent hard work - the hammered steel of preparation and tenacity. The sun reminds me to live in the open with no secrets. The moon teaches me grace and gentleness. The North Star began to represent a compass of sorts, a reminder that I could find my own way in the world if I stayed true to myself and followed my inner star. Songlines is a jewelry line designed as a beautiful reminder to reconnect to those magical moments and follow your heart.

I hope that by sharing with you these symbols that helped build my character and my sense of purpose, that you will begin to think about the shape into which you want your life to grow. And that you choose symbols to remind you of who you are and where you want to go. Our character is our real currency. I hope you will use these charms to bolster you, and to remind you of what is most valuable. The simple things in life are beautiful. Forgiveness shines, perseverance gives us steel, gratitude helps us sparkle with joy. Follow the Songlines that sing in your heart, and let them guide you on your own personal migration toward your unique purpose.

In a world that seems to be careening toward chaos, take shelter in the knowledge that our happiness is always our own. Love is always our own. They belong to us, and no one can take them from us unless we are willing to let go of our ability to live with love and kindness and let our values guide each action we take in the world.  When we are present, we can effect our lives, our families and our communities. I hope these symbols in the jewelry line will bring comfort and remind you to keep shining.

Now that my new new website is up and running , I'd like to share it with you, so you can begin to see what resonates with your life and where you are and where you hope to go!  Click here for Songlines!
